MRS. SUSANNAH HANEY.
OBITUARY SKETCH.Susannah Margaret McClure was born in Ross County, Ohio, Dec. 17, 1831 and died at her home in Bonaparte August 13, 1904, aged 72 years, 7 months and 27 days.
She moved with parents from Ohio when but three years of age to Noble county, Indiana where she resided until 1841 when she came with her parents to Bonaparte, Iowa, where she has since resided.
She was united in marriage to Dennis Haney on Feb. 22, 1854. There were seven children born to this union, three dying in infancy, leaving four to mourn her loss, viz. Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson of Hobart, Oklahoma; R. L. Haney of Creston, Iowa; and Mrs. Lulu B. Ewing and Will C. Haney of Bonaparte.
She has been an invalid for years but has ever manifested a patient, cheerful disposition. Although she has never united with a church yet she has had a firm, clear hope, vested in Christ, indicating clearly that she belonged to the master. Thus as regards the present condition of the departed mother we feel constrained to say "Write, blessed are they which are bidden to the marriage supper of the Lamb."
Besides her immediate family she leaves a host of friends to mourn her departure, yet we sorrow not as do others who have no hope.
Funeral services were held from the Baptist church Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with interrment [sic] in the Bonaparte cemetery, the Baptist pastor being in charge of the services.
