MR. HUGH RITTER LOGAN
OBITUARY SKETCH.Hugh Ritter Logan was born in Washington Co., Penn, March 31, 1832, and was married to Miss Catharine C. McLealand Dec. 30, 1838 [sic prob. 1858]. They moved to Iowa in 1864 settling near where he remained until the time of his death which occurred early in the morning of Feb. 26, 1904.
Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Logan. One daughter died in infancy. The nine surviving children were all present at the bedside of the dying father but James of Minneapolis who on account of sickness could not come. Those present were Mrs. Addie Fraden, Mrs. Cosy Morris, John, Frank and Emmett who came from western Nebraska, Samuel from Oklahoma, and Alexander of Revere, Mo. All these with Harry who lives on the home place were present at the bed of him whom they loved while he lived.
Mr. Logan united with the church at Sharon in the spring of 1886 and remained a faithful member until his death. The immediate cause of his was paralysis. His wife whose last resting place received so much care at his hands preceded him to the better land, dying, Nov. 21, 1885.
In addition to his children, five grandchildren, and a host of friends mourn the death of a kind parent, a good citizen, and a faithful Christian.
