FALL FROM ROOF FATAL TO DR. R. POLLOCK

Dr. Roscoe Pollock, 64, was fatally injured Thursday, May 2, when he fell while patching the roof of the kitchen of his home in Leando. He had been a practicing physician in the Douds-Leando community for 37 years.

Mrs. Pollock, who was the only other member of the family at home, carried him into the house where he died before help arrived. It was evident that he had struck the back of his head on concrete when he fell, either from the roof or the ladder. Coroner Catcott said the death was accidental.

Before his marriage and coming to Leando to make his home he had lived at Libertyville where he was a member of the Presbyterian church.

He attended Parsons college and received his degree from the Keokuk Medical college in 1905. He was president of the Van Buren County Medical Society, and a member of the masonic lodge.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Robert, who had just returned to Fitzgerald, Ga., with his family after spending the winter at Leando; John of Fairfield; Davis of Douds; and Larry of Iowa City; a daughter, Elizabeth, who is a teacher at Ely, Minn.; his mother, Mrs. John C. Pollock of Libertyville; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Wilson of Libertyville; Mrs. Ruth Culbertson of Waterloo, Iowa; Mrs. Edna Knudson of Forsythe, Mont.; and Josephine Pollock of Madison, Wisc.; two brothers, Tom of Ottumwa and Morris of Kansas City, Kansas; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. Wyatt of Montezuma, Iowa, a former pastor, were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Leando Methodist church. Interment in Mt. Moriah cemetery.

Active pallbearers were S.A. Barker, J.S. Russell, L.C. Roush, Asa L. Fellows, W.A. Carson and H.S. Morrison. Honorary pallbearers were Drs. D.T. Rambo, F.L. Nelsn, E.B. Howell and D.O.
