Sarah Humphreys was born in London, England December 1, 1834. She came to America with her parents in 1845, reaching Van Buren County in May of that year. She has resided in this locality most of her life. She was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in Bonaparte about 35 years ago, and has lived a consistent christian life since that time, every ready to help the cause of God in every way possible. She was stricken with apoplexy April 14, 1899, and departed this life April 23, 1899, having lived 64 years, 4 months and 22 days. The funeral occured [sic] from the M. E. Church on Tuesday, April 25, 1899, Rev. G. W. Barber of Farmington, conducting the service.
