Obituary.
Augusta Schrepfer was born in Marlesreuth, Germany, Nov. 26, 1841. She grew to womanhood in her native country and was married to Simon A. Winkler in the summer of 1865 in Germany. They came to America in 1872, settling in Farmington township were they resided until 1874 when they moved to Harrisburg township where they have resided continuously.
To their union eight children were born. Four of the children died in infancy.
She was a member of the Lutheran church from early life, and a consistent christian.
She leaves to mourn for her, her husband, one son, Fred Winkler of Bentonsport, three daughters, Mrs. Anna Scott of Dallas, and Mrs. Emma Radestock and Miss Mary Winkler of Bentonsport, also one brother Fred Schrepfer of Bonaparte and one sister in Germany and five grandchildren.
She died at her home near Bentonsport, Feb. 22, 1907, aged 65 years, 2 months and 26 days.
The funeral services, conducted by Rev. Barber, were held at the Presbyterian church in Bentonsport, Tuesday, Feb. 26 and burial was made in the cemetery at that place.
