At his residence in Harrisbury township, Sunday, July 8th, at 2:20 o'clock A.M. of paralysis, Charles McDonald, Esq.

Mr. McDonald was a native of Scotland. He was the father of ex-Superintendent McDonald. He had been a citizen of Iowa a great many years, and was one of the leading men of his township and the county. Personally, he was one of the noblest of men. The editor of this paper knew him intimately, and loved him like a father. His social qualities were of the highest order. No man ever possessed a higher sense of honor or a more generous nature. He died of paralysis with which he been affected more than a year. He was interred in the Bailes burying ground. The funeral cortege was the largest ever witnessed in the county, and of itself testifies to the universal esteem in which the great hearted, noble-natured Charles McDonald was held while living.
