In Harrisburg township, Lee county, October 11th, Mrs. Mattie A., wife of J. Dixie Smith, aged 31 years.

Mrs. Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Percival, was born in Camton, Grafton County New Hampshire, in 1842. She removed with her parents to this state in 1859. While an attendant in a ward of the hospital for the insane at Mt. Pleasant, she formed an acquaintance with Mr. Smith, to whom she was married in 1865,since which time they have resided for the most part in Harrisburg township. She leaves her husband, three children and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her departure. She was a loving wife and a fond mother, and her death has been a terrible blow to the dear ones she has left. But dear Mattie we shall see thee again,--

"Yes again we hope to meet thee,

In the land-beyond the river;

There is heaven with joy we'll greet thee,

And with thee shall dwell forever."
