Died in Colorado.

The current number of the Carthage, Ill., Republican contains the following brief obituary of W. J. Barr, a native of Big Mound, Lee county:

Wm. J. Barr was born at Big Mound, Lee county, Iowa Nov. 10, 1852; died at Grand Junction, Col., Dec. 1, 1891, from an accident on Saturday, Nov. 28, w;hile attending the switch engine of which he was foreman. Although fatally injured he retained consciousness until a few hours before his death. He belonged to the Brotherhood of trainmen in which his life was insured for aged mother at Fountain Greeen. The remains were interred in the Moss Ridge cemetery.
