Fred Rigler.

Fred Rigler died at his home 2 1/2 miles west of Bonaparte Saturday, December 24, 1905, aged seventy-four years, seven months, and seven days.

He was born at Rottingen, Germany May 16, 1831, and came to Iowa in October of 1845 settling in Van Buren county where he has since resided.

He was married to Miss Mary Margaret Ritter at Farmington, Iowa, September 30, 1860, who preceded him in death March 24, 1892. To them were born six children, four sons and two daughters. August died March 25, 1876. Max lives in Fairbanks, Alaska; Chas. in Pittsburg, Iowa; Mrs. Rosa King in Bonaparte, Iowa; and Anna M. and George at the parental home.

Besides these there are three grandchildren, and one brother, Charles, with whom he has always shared his home.

He was a most pleasant and agreeable man, kind and courteous to all, and one who had the profoundest respect of all who knew him.

Funeral services wer held Tuesday afternoon at the home with interrment in the Bonaparte cemetery.
