Obituary
Miss Rose Ann Hemmings was born near Denmark, Lee county, Iowa, August 15, 1867, and died at her home in Mt. Pleasant June 2, 1905.
She was the youngest child of William and Joyce Hemmings. In 1885 she joined the Presbyterian church at Sharon, but later she joined the Methodist church of which she was a loyal member to the last.
Her father and mother, three brother and one sister, and eight nephews and nieces are left to mourn for her. Her three brothers, Wesley of Primrose and John and Will of Big Mound, and Harry Nutt, John Hawkins and Charles Coulter were pall bearers.
Miss Hemmings was a former resident of this community and had many friends here. She has suffered for several years but has been uncomplaining.
Her last words were "It is well, I am ready." The funeral was held at Sharon Sunday, June 4, conducted by Rev. Byrket of Mt. Pleasant. The services were largely attended, many coming from a distance to pay their last respects to the friend they so dearly loved.
