Kenneth L. Fellows
Kenneth Lazenby Fellows, son of Stephen Lee and Bertha M. Fellows, was born in Keosauqua, Iowa, April 6, 1908 and passed away at Council Bluffs, Iowa, August 9, 1941, aged 38 years, 4 months and 3 days.
He lived all of his life in Keosauqua where he received his education in the Keosauqua schools. After leaving school he worked for the Harbidge Motor company for a number of years. About 13 years ago he moved to Pisgah, Iowa, where, for the past eleven years he has worked for the Swain Motor company of that city.
Kenneth has been in failing health for a number of years and some months ago suffered a deep infection which confined him to the hospital causing intense suffering and severe nervous reactions.
Brief funeral services, which were largely attended by his many friends were held from the Pisgah Methodist church on Saturday afternoon, August 2, 1941, with the Rev. J.D. Payne, pastor of the church, officiating.
Besides his mother, Mrs. Bertha M. Fellows, of Keosauqua, he is survived by his wife, Joy of Pisgah, Ia., three sisters, Mrs. Lola Snyder of Ottumwa, Iowa, Mrs. Willa Murdock of Douds, Iowa and Vera Fellows of Washington D.C., and one brother Harold Fellows of Chicago, Ill. These together with number of other relatives and a host of friends mourn his departure.
Funeral services were held from the Burnett Funeral Home in Keosauqua, Iowa, Monday morning, August 11, 1941, with Rev. C.H. Orf officiating. Interment was in the Fellows cemetery at Keosauqua, Iowa.
Relatives who came for the funeral were Miss Beulah Fellows of Washington, D.C., Harold Fellows of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Snyder of Ottumwa, Mrs. And Mrs. Francis Philson and daughter, Barbara of Marshalltown, Mrs. And Mrs. Edgar Buckles of Marshalltown, Mrs. And Mrs. Harry Murdock of near Keosauqua, and Mr. George Fellows of Milton.
