The death of Jno. B. Cooper, colored, at the Wapello county poor farm last week recalls early history in the barber business in Bonaparte. Mr Cooper was located here in the early seventies and had his shop over George & Bro drug store. Many will doubtless remember him. It is said that when work in the shop was slack, Mr. Cooper would blacken stoves for W. H. Entler, then in the hardware business. Boss Entler was at that time serving his apprenticeship in the shop. From here Mr. Cooper removed to Mt. Pleasant.
