A LANDMARK DISAPPEARS
Death of Capt. J. H. Bonney after a Short Illness

Capt. J. H. Bonney who came here in territioral days, and was formerly one of the most prominent citizens in this part of Iowa, died at his residence in this city, on Monday of this week. For about two years past he had been assistant postmaster at Keosauqua, and up to Sept. 1 he attended to his regular duties as such. On that date he complained of slight indisposition, and continued in about the same condition, being able to sit up, and not suffering much until Sunday or Monday, when he became very much worse, and died Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock as stated.
