Mrs. Rebecca Flint.
Died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. O. Jackson, in Evanston, Ill., Aug. 19, 1907, Mrs. Rebecca Flint, aged 80 yrs. 10 mos, 14 days.
Rebecca Vorheis was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, Oct. 5th, 1826. When 9 years old she came with her fathers family to Iowa and settled in Jefferson County where she grew to womanhood, and when she was 19 years of age she was married to Edmond Sharps. To their union two children were born, one son and one daughter. The son died in infancy and the daughter grew to maturity and died in Bonaparte, the wife of William Meek. Her husband died in 1851. Her second marriage was to Dr. J. W. Flint in Albia, Iowa, in 1852. They subsequently moved to Bonaparte, Iowa, where her husband died Aug. 27, 1866. To their union three children were born. One daughter, Amy, died in childhood. She is survived by two daughters Mrs. J. O. Jackson of Evanston, Ill. And Mrs. J. B. Barnett of Los Angeles, California and six grandchildren.
The funeral took place from the home of her niece, Mrs. A. Steadman in Bonaparte, Iowa, Aug. 22, 1907, Rev. G. W. Barber of Bussey, Iowa, assisted by Rev. Welch of Winona, Kansas, conducting the services.
