Mrs. S. J. SPARKS (widow M.B.).... Her father Finis KILLEBREW was a soldier in the Black Hawk war, and her grandfather, Rev. Laurence KILLEBREW, as a lad served as a private in the army under Washington. Her maternal grandfather, Capt. Mayberry EVANS, was a soldier in the War of 1812. Her ancestry was entirely southern, her mother's people living in Tenn. and her father's in N.C.

She was born in Van Buren County, Iowa, Jan. 9, 1841.... Resident of Jefferson County since 1865. Husband died about ten years ago. Six children: Edwin, now deceased; Wm. of Globe, Ariz.; Ella of Davenport, Iowa; Mary and Effie of Batavia, and Clyde of Fairfield.... Bur. Batavia.
