Boyer--At his residence near Farmington, Saturday, Nov. 19, D.W. Boyer in the 76th year of his age.

The deceased was born in Frederick Co., Maryland, Feb. 22, 1806. He remained there until he had attained man's estate, when, with the true spirit of American progress, he migrated west to the then new state of Ohio, settling in Muskingum county, where in 1830 he married Miss Maria Francis. There he remained, teaching and farming, till 1854, when he came to Iowa and settled in this immediate vicinity, where the remaining years of his life have been passed.

Mr. Boyer had lived in the county too long and was too well known to our people to require any extended notice at our hands. Straightforward, conscientious and honorable in all his dealings, he took it for granted that all men were the same. He was an earnest, consistent member of the Baptist church, his membership dating back for nearly 50 years. Deceased has raised a large family, most of whom are settled in this vicinity and are reckoned among our most worthy and respected citizens. His wife survives him.

The funeral took place at Farmington Monday, Rev. Clouse conducting the services.
