James S. GREENLAND, son of Aaron and Mary Jane, born near Batavia, Iowa, Feb. 22, 1856, died at his home in Batavia Mar. 24, 1928, age 72-1-2.

Married Margaret Ann COURTNEY Feb. 22, 1883; 3 sons, all died in infancy.

They lived near Batavia for 18 years, then moved to Birmingham for 18 years, then returned to Batavia in 1919. He had four brothers and one sister; 3 brothers and his sister preceded him in death.

Survived by wife and one brother Clark GREENLAND of Batavia. His father died in the time of the Civil War..... Interment Batavia Cemetery.
