Weldon Keith Murphy, son of Charlie and Carrie C. Cox Murphy, was born Jan. 7, 1914 at Keosauqua, Iowa and died June 11, 1965 at the Davis County Hospital after a short illness at the age of 51 years, 5 months and 4 days.

He attended schools in Van Buren and Davis Counties. He was a farmer and worked for the Augspurger Gas Service for the past 11 years.

He served on the Pulaski School Board for 12 years and was a member of the Pulaski Methodist Church.

Mr. Murphy married Luzon Burns on March 21, 1936 in Memphis, Mo.

Survivors include the widow; his parents; three daughters, Mrs. Sherry Pierce of Des Moines, Mrs. Karen Willcoxson of Bloomfield and Miss Judy Murphy of Ottumwa; one son, Randy Murphy at home; three grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond Murphy of Des Moines, Dale Murphy of Pulaski and Leo Murphy of Keokuk; and one sister, Mrs. Clifford [Clarissia] Carlson of Bloomfield.

Funeral services were held June 14, 1965 at the Pulaski Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Samuel E. Bowser; burial was in the Pulaski Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Lloyd Fisher, Sam Botts Jr., Keith Kinsinger, Laverne Kline, Dwight Blasi and John Hartzler.
