LIEUTENANT W. H. DODDS
Tuesday morning of this week, May 8, 1917, Lieut.
W. H. Dodds, aged about 77, died at his home in
Ottawa, Kansas, He was an officer in the Fourteenth Iowa Infantry during the Civil War, enlisting in the Hillsboro company from Harrisburg township, this county. He is a brother
of C. W. Dodds of Keosauqua and John F. Dodds of
Harrisburg. Two sons, Lute of Utica, and Mete of
Pierceville, born to him by his first wife, who was Miss Kate Gaddis who died years ago, survive.
He is also survived by his second wife, who was Miss Ellen Perry of this county, and three sons born to them. The mother is a niece of Mrs. J. W. Rowley of Keosauqua. The deceased was a citizen of
high character and universally respected by all his acquaintances. He had been in poor health for some time previous to his death and the last two years suffered much from a broken hip, the result of being struck by an automobile. He will be buried Thursday in the Ottawa, Kas. cemetery.Keo. Rep. May 1917
