Selma Hoskin 1880-1972

Selma A. Warner, daughter of Charles Warner and Mabel Casady Warner, passed away at her home in Hotel Manning, Keosauqua, Iowa, at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 1972. She had made her home there for 12 years.

Selma was born April 3, 1880 at Cantril. Most of her life, with the exception of the last 12 years, was spent in the vicinity of Cantril.

She was married on July 20, 1902 to Fossey Hoskin at the Methodist parsonage at Cantril. From this union one son was born who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cantril since 1923. Those who survive are her husband, Fossey, one granddaughter, Beverly Hannah and two great granddaughters, Debbie and Terry of Des Moines, Iowa; a foster son, Hubert Halberstadt and his children, Ray of Des Moines and JoAnn Downing of Decorah, Ia.; three brothers, Cliff and Bruce of Des Moines, Gus of Stockport; one sister, Lillian Moore of Memphis, Mo.; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held in Cantril United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 1, 1972, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Dale Church officiating, under the direction of the Wellborn Funeral Home of Milton, Iowa. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.
