Miss Margaret Shroyer was born in Dayton, Ohio, September 28, 1825. She was married to Benjamin Wagoner June 26, 1842. They came to Iowa in 1855, and settled at Mt. Pleasant, where they lived until 1860, when they moved to this part of the state and purchased a farm about half way between Farmington and Bonaparte, where they have made their home up to the present time. Mr. Wagoner died eight years ago. Mrs. Wagoner was taken sick eleven weeks ago, and suffered severely until last Sunday morning, November 24, 1901, when her spirit took its departure for the spirit world. The funeral services were held from the family residence Tuesday, November 26, 1901, at 1:30 p. m., Rev. G. C. Goodenough officiating. After which the remains were consigned to their last resting place in the Bonaparte cemetery. Thus another old settler has passed on to her reward. Mrs. Wagoner was the mother of seven children, six of whom (three sons and three daughters) are left to mourn their loss. Mrs. Wagoner was an intelligent, industrious and kind-hearted woman, and was beloved and respected by those who knew her. A large concourse of relatives and friends were present to render aid and sympathy. The relatives have the sympathy of the community in this their hour of affliction.
