CLYDE R. PERKINS
Clyde R. Perkins, 83, of Bonaparte died Sunday, July 16, at 8:15 p.m. at Keokuk Convalescent Center after a length illness.
The son of Frank and Emma Tompkins Perkins, he was born February 26, 1895 at Bonaparte.
He married Retta Ruark on June 4, 1916 at Keosauqua. She preceded him in death.
He lived at Keokuk and rural Bonaparte. A retired farmer, he served as custodian of Keokuk Senior High School for 15 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Beulah) Mercier of Keokuk and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Annadeen Perkins of Bonaparte; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, two sons, two brothers, and three sisters.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, July 19, at 10 a.m. in the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, with the Rev. Scott Holmes officiating. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington. Visitation at the funeral home was Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
