Death of Mrs. Lucy A. Bryant.

Mrs. Lucy A. Bryant, wife of Jay Bryant, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1909, at the family residence near Santa Rosa, Cal., of dropsy.

Mrs. Bryant was born near Utica, Van Buren county, Iowa, Oct. 26th, 1855, and was united in marriage to her bereaved husband Dec 25, 1882; joined the P.E.O. society at Farmington, Iowa, in 1889. Was a graduate of the I..W.U. at Mt. Pleasant.

Besides her husband there is a daughter Miss Margaret and a son Kenneth left to mourn her loss.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Patten of Santa Rosa in the Congregational church at Sebastopol, Tuesday, Sept. 28. The casket was covered with beautiful floral pieces from many friends in that vicinity.

Among those present at the funeral ceremonies were some of Mrs. Bryant's old friends and neighbors formerly of Van Buren county, viz: Mrs. Simon Graham, Mr. And Mrs. Frank Graham, Mrs. Mary Sandborn, Mr. And Mrs. Joseph Walker, Mr. And Mrs. W.R. Parker.

Mrs. Bryant is buried in a beautiful cemetery, on a high piece of ground commanding a view of the surrounding country, with the mountains outlined in the distance.

In this cemetery is buried Simon Graham, who died about two months ago. It is a very singular coincidence that these two, who are buried in the same cemetery, and died so near the same time, formerly lived on the same farm in Van Buren county, adjoining the town of Birmingham.
