Peter R. KECK, son of Henry and Mary Keck, born near Greensburg, PA November 21, 1836 and died March 5, 1907 - aged 70 years 3 months 14 days. To Van Buren County with parents in 1846 to Utica. Enlisted Co. G 4th Ia Calvary October 5, 1861. Served 3 years. Married September 5, 1867 Miss Mary L. GREEN in Bentonsport. Children: Leroy M., Clayton W., Edna W., Leslie, Hugh B., Bertha C., and Bessie. Only Hugh B., Edna, and Bertha living. Moved to Des Moines 1899 where wife and mother died June 8, 1902. Buried in Bentonsport. Brothers: Hon. J. A. Keck and Henry Keck of Van Buren County near Utica. At the funeral Hugh B. of Chicago, the only son present but daughters Edna and Bertha on Pacific Coast could not attend. Among Pallbearer were Judson H. Keck, and Elmer Keck of Utica.
