Harold Thornburg

Harold Thornburg, 64, rural Farmington, died at 2:36 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 1991 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.

Born December 5, 1927 in Lowell, he was the son of Lloyd and Anna Berry Thornburg. He married Dorothy Sly, December 18, 1948 in Danville.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had lived in rural Farmington for 16 years and was a building contractor. He was a member of Bonaparte Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Richard Thornburg of Kirkwood, Missouri, Steve Thornburg of Des Moines, and David Thornburg of Spring Valley, Illinois; one daughter, Jane Cole of Bentonsport; four brothers, Myron Thornburg of Farmington, Tommy Thornburg of Oakville, Edward Thornburg of Cantril, and Duane Thornburg of Burlington; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held December 15 at the Hofbauer Funeral Home with Bob Dodds officiating.

Memorials have been established for pulmonary rehabilitation at the Fort Madison Community Hospital and for the Farmington EMTs. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.
