Harvey Day.

Harvey Dad died in Keosauqua at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Samuel McCullough, Wednesday, February 12, 1908, aged about 72 years. He was only ill about one week, his illness being pneumonia.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters all residing away from here except Mrs. McCullough; also by one brother, I.R. Day of Keosauqua, and a sister, Mrs. Eliza Culbertson, widow of the late Benj. Culbertson of Burlington. There is also one sister in California.

He was a son of the late Timothy Day who settled in Union township of this county at an early day and was known all over this great state as an extensive breeder of Short Horn cattle. He was also the first president of the Iowa State Agricultural Society as I now remember.

Harvey Dad, the subject of this sketch was a man beloved by all who had made his acquaintance. He was kind and generous to a fault. Thus a good citizen has left us to join his wife and one daughter who had preceded him to that Great Beyond about two years ago. The funeral was held at the late home Friday with interment in the Bentonsport cemetery.
