Jane Forbes Weiher

Jane Forbes, was born March 14th, 1825, and died at the home of her two grandchildren, Alden and Olive Watts, April 21, 1910, at the good old age of 85 years, 1 month and 7 days. She came to America from Londonderry, Ireland, in the year 1849, and has continued to live at or near Bonaparte until her death.

She was married to Augustus Weiher September 17th, 1851, who preceeded [sic] her to his Heavenly Home about 19 years ago. They were blessed with eight children, five daughters and three sons. Wm. M. Weiher, Mrs. C. C. Stedman, and Mrs. Thomas White, of Bonaparte, Iowa; John F. Weiher of Ewing, Mo., Mrs. J. W. McClain, of Franklin, Iowa; Lewis C. Weiher, of Minn.; and Mrs. F. Hardesty? of Jacksonville, Fla., who was too far away to be expected. The eldest daughter, Sarah, passed to that shining shore nearly 10 years ago.

Two daughters, one son and three grand-children were at the bed side when death came. She was conscious a short time before the end came and bid those around her bedside good bye in the best way she could. There were some we knew she missed, 2 sons and 2 daughters who were unable to reach here in time.

Dear Mother will be missed in our homes for she was ever good and true. She united with the Methodist Church in the year 18_8. Was a devoted Christian, always willing to do what she could. She leaves to mourn her loss seven children, twenty-one grand children and 12 great grand children.

Funeral at Story Chapel April 24 at 3 p.m. conducted by Rev. H. C. Druce assisted by Rev. L. G. Cummins.
