Frederick W. Elerick, son of William S. and Rose Stewart Elerick, was born October 26, 1904 in Keosauqua and died August 9, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua at the age of 83.
Fred graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1923 and lived his life in the community. He was known as a Keosauqua and Van Buren County historian, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Modern Woodman Lodge.
Surviving are a sister, Larue Lange of Oskaloosa, a brother, Kern Elerick, Jefferson, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Three brothers and a nephew preceded him in death.
Fred had donated his body to the University of Iowa Medical School.
Graveside services and interment of cremains were Saturday, Oct. 12, 1990 at 2 p.m. in Purdom Cemetery, Keosauqua with Rev. Chrisa Ferguson officiating. Arrangements in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
