Jean F. Huff

Jean F. Huff, 60, Fort Madison, died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 1990 at Fort Madison Community Hospital. She had been in failing health for some time.

She was born September 1, 1930 at Milton. She lived in Fort Madison for 11 years in Farmington for three years before returning to Fort Madison about a year ago. She was a secretary at Iowa State Industries at the state penitentiary and was a member of the Santa Fe United Methodist Church.

On September 14, 1951, she was married to Jim Sampsell. On October 22, 1976, at Dallas City, Illinois, she was married to Lionel (Leon) Huff, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Launa Diton and Terrie Sobaski, both of Fort Madison and Linda Madigan, Eldridge; two stepsons, Joe Huff, Heyworth, Illinois and Richard Huff, Fort Madison; three sisters, Ada Wherwein, LaBelle, Florida and Jo Jedlicka and Kay Mehl, both of Fort Madison; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a nephew. Her parents were Joseph and Sara Else Workman.

Services were held Tuesday, October 16, 1990 at the Santa Fe United Methodist Church with Reverend Robert Ruppert officiating. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.

Hofbauer Funeral Home in Donnellson was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are being established with the Santa Fe United Methodist Church and the Farmington EMT Unit.
