Private services for Virginia Vickers, 59, Bonaparte, were held Monday, April 9, 1990 at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington. The Reverend Fred Malone officiated. Burial was in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
Mrs. Vickers died at 8:55 p.m. Friday, April 6, 1990 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua. She had been ill for some time.
A long-time Bonaparte resident, she was born February 12, 1931 at Des Moines. She was a former employee of the Fairfield Glove Company of Bonaparte and was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church.
On April 15, 1950, in Farmington, she married to Keith Vickers, who survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Hazel Kennedy Rice, Bonaparte; a son, Keith of Bonaparte; three daughters, Kimberly Scott, Fort Madison, Kristie Vickers, Keosauqua, and Cindy Vickers, Fairfield, Texas; two brothers, Earl Rice, Jr. and Robert Rice, both of Bonaparte; one sister, Ilene Meek of Bonaparte; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Rice.
A memorial is being established with the Bonaparte First Responders. Contributions may be made at the Hofbauer Funeral Home.
