Thomas Sexton

Thomas B. Sexton, 46, of Cedar Falls, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, September 16, 1989 following a tanker accident at Bay City, Michigan.

Born February 21, 1944 at Hawthorne, California, he was the son of Claude and Delthia Daniels Sexton. He married Paul Mahuran on February 19, 1980 at Cedar Falls.

Mr. Sexton was a merchant seaman and had served with the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the National Maritime Union and had attended the University of Northern Iowa. He had lived in Cedar Falls for 20 years.

He is survived by his father, Bonaparte; his wife, Cedar Falls; a son, Timothy Sexton, of the home; and two sisters, Claudelle Jenkins, Santee, California and Cynthia Hines, Bettendorf.

Services for Mr. Sexton will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 1990 at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington. Burial will be in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
