Sarah Ella Priebe

Sarah Ella Priebe, 86, 906 E. Jackson Ave., died at 8:45 a.m. today, Feb. 2, 1990, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service tentatively is set for 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Sunday at Raymond Funeral Home. The family would appreciate memorials to Jefferson County Hospice or First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Priebe was born Aug. 13, 1903, at Cabot, Ark., the daughter of C.A. and Mandy Wilson. She grew up in Cabot and graduated from high school there. She married Milton H. Priebe July 7, 1936, at Rock Island, Ill. Starting in 1937, they owned and operated Priebe Department Store, first in Farmington, then in Keosauqua, until selling it to Graham's in 1950. They moved to Fairfield in 1951. He died March 19, 1977. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star and a past president of Chapter E, TTT.

Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Sundberg of Pisgah Forest, N.C.; a son, Winston M. of Creston; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Adolph Wilson of Belleville, Ill., Leondus Wilson of Denver and a sister, Verla Mae Nickelson of Hot Springs, Ark.

A daughter, La Veria Rinaberger; a grandson; a great-grandchild and a brother, Willis Wilson, preceded her in death.
