Roy A. Satterly

FORT MADISON - Roy Arthure Satterly, 66, Rochelle, Ill., died Oct. 20, (1948) in Moline Ill., after a long illness. A farmer and Shropshire sheep raiser, Satterly was a native of Farmington and was born July 7, 1882. He was married to Elizabeth Neu, who died many years ago. On Oct. 31, 1914, he was married to Edna Mae Bennett, now an employee of the agricultural department at Washington, D.C.

In addition to his wife, Satterly leaves 2 sons, Frederick Satterly of San Bernardino, Calif., and Vernon Satterly of Minneapolis; 3 daughters, Mrs. Margaret Wilder, Berkeley, Calif., Mrs. Jessie Mae Koplin, Pendleton, Ind., and Mrs. Betty Jane Graves, Houston, Texas. A son, Arthur Satterly, died in infancy. There are 5 grandchildren. The body is at Clements' chapel. Last rites will be held at the First Baptist church of Farmington at 2:30 p.m., Sunday. Rev. Harold Thomas will officiate and burial will be in the Farmington Cemtery.
