Maxine Louise Veatch

Maxine Louise Veatch, age 65, of Stockport, Iowa died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 21, 1988 at her daughter's home in Ottumwa, Iowa.

She was born January 26, 1923 in Lee County, Iowa the daughter of Bruce and Huldah Weller Poole. She married Warren Veatch, July 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. and he survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Louise Millard, Orinda, Calif., Vicki Johnson, Ottumwa, Iowa, three grandchildren, and one step-sister, Audry Smith, Burlington, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Stuart and Robert Poole.

She had lived most of her live(life) in the Stockport community where she was a member of the Stockport United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She had been a teller for 23 years at the Iowa State Bank in Stockport and for 16 years at the Iowa State Bank in Fairfield. She retired in 1986.

Funeral services for Maxine L. Veatch will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 1988 at the Stockport United Methodist Church in Stockport, with Rev. Shirley Rozendaal officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery.

Family requests memorials to the Stockport Public Library and the Stockport United Methodist Church.

M. Veatch rites at Stockport

STOCKPORT - Maxine Louise Veatch, 65, Stockport, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 21, 1988 at her daughter's home in Ottumwa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stockport United Methodist Church with the Rev. Shirley Rozendaal officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. The family requests memorials to Stockport Public Library or Stockport United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Veatch was born Jan. 26, 1923, in Lee County, the daughter of Bruce and Huldah Weller Poole. She married Warren Veatch July 4, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Louise Millard of Orinda, Calif., Vicki Johnson of Ottumwa; three grandchildren and a sister, Audrey Smith of Burlington. Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.
