Ina E. Winke, 74, of rural Fort Madison, died 5:05 p.m. Friday, April 22, 1988, at the home of her daughter in Mount Juliet, Tenn.
Born Jan. 3, 1914, at Donnellson, she was the daughter of Oscar and Martha Wharton Bentzinger. She married Raymond B. Winke May 26, 1937, at Fort Madison. He died Nov. 1, 1960.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Ladies Auxiliary, and the Fort Madison Senior Citizens. She was past president of the Altar and Rosary Society of the church and the Soroptimist Club. She and her husband owned the Winke Standard Service Station, the city bus lines, and the Winke Oil Co., all in Fort Madison. She retired from the Evening Democrat, Fort Madison.
Surviving are one son, Raymond B. Winke Jr., Fort Madison; one daughter, Mrs. Martha Ann (Charles "Bud") Ruble, Mount Juliet, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Stella (Walter) Ross, Fort Madison, and Mrs. Raye (Robert) Mitchell, Bonaparte; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday with the rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m. at the King-Lynk Funeral Home.
The service for Mrs. Winke will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Amborn officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Soroptimist Scholarship Fund.
