Arden L. Bennett

Arden L. Bennett, Lt. Col., retired, died April 3, 1988. He had lived many years in the canal zone and Panama City.

He combined his career as an Army officer with one as a Panamanian Lawyer. After retiring, he moved, along with his family, to Pasadena, Calif., where he was a professor of Spanish and different scientific subjects at Pasadena College, until it moved to Point Loma. He also received his PhD from U.S.C. He was a member of Iglesia Del Nazareno, Pasadena and served on the Distrito Occidental Latinoamerica, Iglesia del Nazareno.

he was preceded in death by his first wife Mercedes.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; and six children, William of Panama City; Paul of Honolulu, Hawaii; Vena Luthey, Pasadena; Ruth Stupski, Alexandria, Virginia; Arden, Jr., Oroville, Cal., and Allen of La Verne, Ca.; He is also survived by three brothers, Allen of Nampa, Idaho; Bill of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; Frank of Battle Ground, Wash.; Laura McVicker of Washington and Alice Ann Bond, Lions, Oregon; eighteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was the son of Grover and Vena Duvall Bennett.

He graduated from Keosauqua High School and attended William Penn, Oskaloosa, before joining the Army.

He was born, August 2, 1910.

Services were held April 9, at the Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
