Russell "Russ" Scott Bass

Russell "Russ" Scott Bass, 17, of Ottumwa Route 2 died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1987, at his home.

He was born Feb. 24, 1970, in Ames to Duane and Mary Williams Bass. A lifelong Ottumwa resident, he was a senior and honor student at Ottumwa High School. He had been a member of the Blue Grass Contenders 4-H Club.

He is survived by his parents; a sister, Kelly, of Ottumwa Route 2; grandparents, Lloyd and Betty Williams of Libertyville, and Leo Bass of Birmingham.

The service was Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1987 at Willard Street United Methodist Church, the Rev. Wilbert Trusheim officiating. Burial was in Shaul Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Russell Bass Scholarship Fund for the Ottumwa High School students that would like to further their education.
