Darius Derr Sr.

Darius Derr Sr., 96, of Croton, died Friday, Oct. 16, 1987, at the Donnellson Manor Care Center.

Born Feb. 19, 1891, at Charleston, he was the son of Scerno and Arvilla Allen Derr. He married Ada Cloud, March 15, 1911, in Fort Madison.

Most of his life was spent as a farmer in Croton.

Surviving are a son, Darius Derr Jr. of Farmington; two daughters, Mrs. Stella (Glenn) Ware of Donnellson and Darlene Vantiger of Denmark; a brother, George Derr of Farmington, Ill.; 23 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. today with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hofbauer Funeral Home in Donnellson.

The service for Mr. Derr will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Harden officiating. Burial will be in Charleston Cemetery.

A memorial for Charleston Cemetery may be left at the funeral home.
