Fred Anderson

OSKALOOSA - Fred N. Anderson, 63, of Oskaloosa died Jan. 25, 1987, at Iowa Methodist Center in Des Moines.

He was born July 7, 1923, in Keosauqua to Howe and Ethel Spencer Anderson. He moved to Oskaloosa in 1951 and was employed by Pepsi Cola until 1956. He worked for Ellis Distributing Co. till 1958 when he became an Oskaloosa policeman retiring in 1980. A World War II naval veteran, he was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oskaloosa, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Elks Lodge. He married Loretta Regan on Sept.3, 1949 in Burlington.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Gary F. of Waukesha, Wis.; two daughters, Kathy Sirovy of Forest City and Karen Gerlach of Columbia, Mo.; three grandsons; and a sister, Caribelle Witt of What Cheer.

The service was Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1987 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oskaloosa, the Rev. Thomas McConville officiating. Burial with military rites given by American Legion will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to Hospice of Mahaska County.
