Sam Peebler dies from fall

FORT MADISON - Sam H. Peebler, 30, of Fort Madison died Thursday morning at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. He was injured Wednesday in a fall at his workplace, Pilley Inc., at Fort Madison.

He was born Sept. 8, 1956, in Des Moines, the son of Vern and Mary Jo Duvall Peebler. He was a member of First Christian Church at Fort Madison, was an honorary Eagle Scout and was a recipient of the God and Country Award in Scouting.

Peebler is survived by his parents of Fort Madison; a sister, Carrie Schneider, Donnellson; and a brother, Eric, Mount Pleasant.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church, 10th St. and Ave F at Fort Madison. The Rev. Charles Kamilos will officiate.

The casket will be in state at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. Friends may call at their convenience beginning Saturday morning at Pedrick Funeral Home at Keosauqua. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville.

A memorial has been established to his church.
