Mary Calhoun

Mary Calhoun, 95, of Ames, died at North Grand Care Center in Ames.

Mrs. Calhoun was born Feb. 6, 1892, in Ogalalla, Neb., to John and Katherine Beyrle Durk. She married Raymond T. Calhoun on Jan. 1, 1913, in Mount Pleasant; he died in 1935.

Surviving are four sons, Charles, Ames, Jack, Des Moines, Glenn, Birmingham, Ala., and Manley, Keosauqua; three daughters, Doris O'Keefe, Des Moines, Mrs. Florence (Nick) Jacobson, Goose Lake, and Gertrude Garrell, Burlington; a brother, Ralph Durk, Los Angeles, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Friends may call as desired beginning at 9 a.m. Monday at the Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.

Services for Mrs. Calhoun will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Mount Pleasant, the Rev. George White officiating.
