Clarence Harry Dalrymple

Clarence Harry Dalrymple, 79, 2807 Ave. M, died today at 2:30 a.m. at Burlington Medical Center. He had been in failing health for the last two months and had been seriously ill for five days.

Mr. Dalrymple was born May 9, 1907, in Bonaparte. He was a 50-year resident of Fort Madison and a member of Santa Fe United Methodist Church. He retired in 1972 after working 30 years for the Santa Fe Railroad.

On Nov. 6, 1930, in Fort Madison, he married Sadie Phidelia Whittlesey Dalrymple, who preceded him in death Sept. 9, 1981.

He is survived by a son, Chester E. Dalrymple, Fort Madison; three daughters, Mrs. Rolland (Joan) Hancock, St. Louis, Mrs. Donald (Doris) Landes, rural West Point, and Mrs. Ronald (Sue) Magoon, Globe, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers. His parents were Jesse and Ella Kutscher Dalrymple.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Barr Memorial Chapel, with Raymond Boulter officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Friends may call at Barr Memorial Chapel any time after 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of service. The family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.

A memorial is being established with the University of Iowa Cancer Center. Contributions may be made at Barr Memorial Chapel.
