Rites Saturday for L. Ferrel

Lloyd Merwin, Ferrel, 78, Logan Apartments, died at 7 a.m. today at Nelson Nursing Home.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Mary Ann Bernard officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Fell Cemetery, Libertyville. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Fell Cemetery Association.

Ferrel was born Feb. 5, 1909 in Libertyville, the son of J.C. and Anna Mallams Ferrel. He married Dorothea McBride Oct. 26, 1936 in Lancaster, Mo. He had been a farmer and worked for Dexter Company for 18 years, retiring in 1974. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and had served in the Iowa National Guard. He was past president of the local International Association Machinist and Aerospace Workers, and was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Merle, Fairfield; Darrel, Moberly, Mo.; two daughters, Eva Russell, Moberly, Mo.; Anna Pearle Lesher, Itasca, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd, Bonaparte; Robert, Mesa, Ariz..; three sisters, Elsa Crawford, Elaine, Bonnett, both of Fairfield; Erma Stump, Loveland, Colo. A son, a daughter, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
