Garnet L. Deere

Garnet L. Deere, 84, of Farmington, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Donnellson Manor Care Center.

Born April 3, 1903, in Farmington, she was the daughter of John and Cora Saltzgaver Johnson. She married Frank Deere Sept. 3, 1921, in Fort Madison.

She was a housewife and member of the Farmington First Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Forrest, Fort Madison, and Ardath, Farmington; one sister, Edith McFarland, Davenport; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at noon today at Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington. The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

Services for Mrs. Deere will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Farmington, with Rev. Ron Haas officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington.

A memorial has been established for the church.
