Gertrude Wilson

Gertrude M. Wilson, 85, of Bonaparte, died Wednesday, July 29, 1987, at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.

Born July 18, 1902, in Vernon Township, near Bentonsport, she was the daughter of Webster and Jesse Burns Henry. She married Granville Scott Wilson Dec. 24, 1920, at Bonaparte.

A longtime resident of Bonaparte, Mrs. Wilson was a former employee of the Sheaffer Pen Company. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Bonaparte, and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lorene (Lee) Chapman, Bonaparte; two sons, Glenn W. Wilson, Mason City, and Richard Wilson, Leon; one brother, Darrell W. Henry, Keosauqua; and nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington.

The service for Mrs. Wilson will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hofbauer Funeral Home with the Rev. James Rozendaal officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetry.

A memorial has been established. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.
