Chancie E. Davidson

Chancie E. Davidson, son of Charles and Harriett Arnold Davidson, was born May 17, 1906 near Keosauqua and died early the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1987 at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City, at the age of 81.

He grew up in Van Buren County, worked at the Iowa Army Ordinance Plant near Burlington, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and had lived many years in Des Moines, where he was employed in the food service department at Des Moines Veterans Hospital until his retirement. Chancie was a member of First Seventh Day Adventist Church, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Des Moines.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Virgie Wright, Moline, Ill., nieces and nephews, a special friend, Myldred Schofield, Des Moines, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 1987 in Purdom Cemetery, Keosauqua, with Pastor Charles Jenson of Ottumwa, officiating. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
