Richard L. Orndoff

Richard L. Orndoff, son of Howard and Esther Liggett Orndoff, was born March 14, 1828 at Monmouth, Illinois and departed this life the afternoon of Friday, July 24, 1987 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center following a heart attack at his home in Douds.

He served in the United States Air Force in Okinawa during World War II, and was a produce manage in Davenport for 30 years.

Richard married Louise McCarty, May 15, 1949 at Millersburg, Illinois. They lived in Aledo, Illinois, many years in Davenport, and moved to Douds in 1986.

Surviving are his wife, Louise; a daughter, Deborah Jeys of Davenport; a son, Kenny of Birmingham and four grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Robert of Rock Island, Illinois and a stepbrother, Jerry Clark, Kewanee, Illinois. His parents and a brother, Howard, preceded him in death.
