Bertha E. Crafton

Bertha E. Crafton, 88, of Birmingham, died 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. g, 1987, at the home of her daughter, Joann Jones, rural Wever.

She married Walter Crafton Nov. 8, 1917 in Stockport. He died March 21, 1971.

She had lived her entire life in the Birmingham community.

Surviving are five sons, Roy Crafton, LaClaire, Robert Crafton, Davenport, Kenneth Crafton, Cedar Falls, Paul Crafton, Mount Pleasant, and Leonard Crafton, Birmingham; five daughters, Mildred Brown, Cedar Rapids, Marjorie Jarmes, Fairfield, Joann Jones and Marilyn Rettig, both of Wever, and Idora Crafton, Keosauqua; three sisters, Media Faulkner, Chico, Calif., and Helen Weaver and Hazel Weaver, both of Birmingham; 23 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The service for Mrs. Crafton will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Burch-Raymond Funeral Home, Birmingham with Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham.

A memorial has been established for the County Health Nurses Service of Lee County.
