Carrie Hargrove dies at 86

MILTON - Carrie E. Hargrove, 86, died today at the home of her daughter, Esther Wells, in rural Milton.

Mrs. Hargrove was born Dec. 22, 1899, in Milton, the daughter of William E. and Nancy J. Williamson Scheyli. She married Roland Lynn Hargrove May 29, 1918. They farmed south of Milton. He died in 1947. She was a member of Milton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by three sons, Harold and James, Milton, and George, State College, Penn.; four daughters, Helen Manka, Fort Madison, Ruth Wardlow, Larchwood, Martha Graham, Alaska, and Esther Wells, Milton; 24 grandchildren and 31 greaat-grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Milton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Butler officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery near Milton.

A Christian wake service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home with visitation following.

Memorials have been established and may be left at the funeral home.
