LEONARD K. (JIM) WOLFE
Leonard K. Wolfe, son of Harry and Allie Keeler Wolfe, was born June 30, 1908, near Mt. Sterling and departed this life Friday, October 25, 1974, at University Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 66, following a three week illness.
In 1927 he was married to Dorotha Evans who passed away in 1952. In 1955 he married Berniece Thomas, who died in 1971. A brother, Harold, also preceded him in death.
In 1972 he married Verla Cole Martin, who remains to cherish his memory. Also surviving are two sons, Dean Wolfe of Bonaparte, and Billy Wolfe of Keosauqua, a daughter, Mrs. Harold Glaha, a stepson, Ted Thomas of Wheaton, Ill. and two brothers, William of Mt. Sterling and Floyd of Cantril. In addition he is survived by 12 grandchildren, who were his special pride and joy. They are Russell and Dorotha Wolfe; Kimberly, Teddy, Billy, Kevin, Trisha, Tracey and Mark Glaha; and Desiree, Barry and Dannielle Thomas.
Mr. Wolfe farmed in his early life and for many years was a self-employed painter. In recent years he had ben [sic] employed as custodian of the Farmers State Bank in Keosauqua.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandad and as a good friend and neighbor to all who knew him.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 27, 1974, at 2 p.m. at the Keosauqua Congregational Church, with the Rev. Harold Schnedler, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
